Case Study Ethoscapes · Houston, TX · Top 100 Commercial Landscape Firm

Growth Doesn’t Have to Break at Scale.

Ethoscapes had grown through acquisition, bringing several established operating companies under one brand. Online, each one still had its own website, its own search authority and its own disconnected local footprint. Operationally they were one company. To a property manager searching for a vendor, they were still several.

The Problem

Multiple acquired companies.
Scattered websites.
One Google Business Profile carrying a multi-division operation.

The company had consolidated operationally. Its digital presence had not.

Ethoscapes serves HOAs, corporate campuses, municipal utility districts, developers, school districts and parks across the Houston metro through commercial maintenance, landscape construction and erosion control. The platform was assembled through acquisition, bringing multiple established operating companies under one brand.

Each acquired company brought its own website, search history and accumulated authority. Those assets were not working together. One Google Business Profile was trying to represent a multi-division operation, and a four-star rating across fourteen reviews did not reflect the scale or experience of the business.

For commercial buyers evaluating vendors, the digital footprint did not yet present Ethoscapes as the unified platform it had become. Fragmented brands slow integration. Disconnected footprints limit visibility. This is the problem H/Platform exists to solve.

01The Build

Markets determine structure. Brands follow.

HALSTEAD applies a defined acquisition integration policy rather than treating every roll-in as a one-off: roll into the existing operating company, merge into one site, redirect the domain, and preserve accumulated authority through a structured migration. That policy is what was executed here. HALSTEAD mapped authority at the page level across the legacy domains, created the redirect architecture and reorganized the site around the way commercial buyers search—including the markets they serve, not only the services Ethoscapes sells.

01 Consolidation

Multiple acquired operating companies — including WestCo, Champions Hydro-Lawn, Houston Landscapes Unlimited and the tree division — migrated onto one domain using page-level authority mapping and a complete redirect plan.

02 Structure

Separated commercial landscaping from enhancements, consolidated drainage and erosion, and added “Who We Serve” pages for MUDs, developers, school districts, parks and retail properties.

03 Local search

Consolidated, reverified and began managing the Google Business Profile for the multi-division footprint.

04 Commercial demand

Published three posts per month and developed location and service pages around priority commercial terms, supported by documented experience and expertise — the H/Demand motion applied to search, putting Ethoscapes in front of property stakeholders ahead of the formal bid process.

05 AI visibility

Added AI search visibility as a standing metric alongside traditional rankings.

02What Changed

The search footprint now reflects the company Ethoscapes has become.

Organic sessions increased from 170 in October 2025 to more than 900 per month by mid-2026 and have held at that level. Average search position across the domain improved from roughly 35—effectively page three—to approximately 16, bringing Ethoscapes into the range where commercial buyers are more likely to encounter the company while building a vendor shortlist.

The new site launched in April 2026. Organic growth continued through the migration rather than falling back, showing that the authority accumulated across the legacy companies had been preserved and successfully consolidated.

03What Happened Next

The search foundation
became the platform.

The work then expanded from a single Houston operating company to H/Platform, HALSTEAD’s growth layer for multi-entity companies. HALSTEAD is now building the search foundation for Ethoscapes’ future expansion. Every new acquisition enters the same system, with the same standards, within weeks of closing.

Their marketing director put the ask plainly: she wanted

“a partner and teacher, not just a vendor.”

The Shift
That is what a consolidation earns when it works. Not a renewal. A bigger mandate.

Acquiring the right companies takes real work.Making them grow as one is what H/Platform was built for.
