Videography Terms & Conditions
1. We hope you love the video shoot experience and the videos you receive! If we manage your website, we will take care of uploading the videos to the website at no additional charge. We know scheduling a video shoot takes a lot of time and planning on your end, we appreciate it! The remaining terms here are to help us work together to limit any potential issues. We hope you understand. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
2. You release us from any liability that could arise from the video shoot, including the interview and drone videography.
3. Cancellations within 7 days for non-weather related reasons will incur a 100% of total video shoot fee.
4. Stills (photos) are not part of this video shoot. While we normally end up with a handful (or less) of stills, a photoshoot requires double the time and effort. For example, if the video shoot takes 90 minutes, adding photos will take another 90 minutes. Additionally, photography and videography are separate skillsets (despite them seeming similar efforts), so we may have one of our team members do a photoshoot and a completely different team member do a video shoot. This scheduling page is for video shoots only. For photoshoots, please reach out to us to discuss.
5. While we don't assist with staging (unless its been discusses and included in your scope of work), we do assist with the interview. We will guide you entirely by asking you initial and followup questions. While the interview might last 10, 20, or 30+ minutes but we use less than a minute of interview footage per project. We'll be there to ensure you are comfortable.
6. Our videographer has their own transportation, so you don't need to offer transportation (if we are filming more than one project) and are not encouraged to do so. We understand you may have (hands-free) calls to take in between shoots and other work to do.
7. Many clients arrive to the first shoot the day prior to do cleanups or other prework. For projects that we're filming/visiting after the first stop, you may want to have cleanup done by your crew while we're with you at the first site - how you plan that is completely up to you.
8. We normally need about 90-120 minutes at each project for proper strategy, drone, walkthrough, and interview filming.
9. We ask that you prepare your homeowner (or business, if we're filming at a commercial site) in advance.
10. For the best video possible, its extremely important to get the live interview from you, or someone else in your company, at each project. The video quality is 90x with an interview. Questions asked are usually about the project and materials - but depend on what we're filming and where. We dont follow scripts and ask the person being “interviewed” to avoid trying to remember sentences. The filming of the “interview” will resemble a natural conversation - which will help make it all sound, look, and feel more genuine.
11. Since most video shoots are dependent on weather, we send a final email confirmation 24-48 hours prior to the video shoot day with all details. If the weather outlook is bad, we may ask you to reschedule (trust us, it’s better - in most cases, you don't want a cloudy day for your shoot!). We use accuweather.com.
12. Full payment is required in advance of the shoot. 50% is charged upon booking to reserve the date. The 50% remaining is charged about 2 weeks prior to shoot date. Fees are auto-charged to the card on file.
13. Additional stops during the day of the shoot can’t be arranged. Often, the hotel, airport timeline, and the rest of our planning is so closely aligned to the stop addresses and timeline. In cases where your stop can no longer be filmed for any reason, we will communicate and come up with a best plan of action. Alternate plans will be confirmed and approved by your videographer and your project manager.
14. Payments made for videography are nonrefundabl.. If you have a special case in which we approved a videoshoot to occurlater than originally planned, you will be asked to pay the difference of what you have paid so far compared to the current going rate for videography at HALSTEAD. This is similar to if you quote a patio in one year, the same quote is no longer valid 2 years later.
